Attendance Policy
Partnering with Families for Consistent Growth
At Air of Imagination (AOI), we believe that consistent attendance is vital to a student’s academic progress, creative development, and spiritual formation. Every day counts — and every absence can impact the learning experience of your child and the entire class.
Attendance Expectations
- Students are expected to arrive on time and attend school daily, unless they are sick or have an excused absence.
- Our instructional day begins at 2PM. Students arriving after this time will be marked tardy.
- Excessive absences or tardiness may affect a student’s participation in special programs, performances, or field trips.
Reporting an Absence
If your child will be absent, please notify us as soon as possible by:
- Submitting an absence notice via email
- Calling the front office at (786) 631-2226
- Emailing :[email protected]
Excused Absences Include:
- Illness with symptoms
- Medical appointments (with note)
- Death in the family
- Family emergency (at the discretion of administration)
- Pre-approved travel (must be submitted in advance)
Unexcused Absences May Include:
- Oversleeping
- Vacation not pre-approved
- Missing school without explanation
- Leaving early or arriving late repeatedly without cause
Early Dismissals & Late Arrivals
- All early dismissals must be signed out by a parent/guardian at the front desk.
- Late arrivals after 2:30PM must check in at the front office before going to class.
Parent Partnership
We understand that life happens and we’re here to support your family. However, we ask that you help us build a culture of accountability, discipline, and readiness by prioritizing your child’s daily attendance.
If attendance becomes a concern, the administration will:
- Reach out for a parent meeting
- Provide resources or adjustments if needed
- Work together on a support plan
